Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon and Adviser to Chief Minister on Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab have urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) "goons" who purportedly attempted to climb the walls of apex court’s Lahore registry.

In a joint press conference at Karachi's Frere Hall on Saturday, they said that PTI "goons" tried to climb over the apex court wall last night.

Condemning the incident, they said that the apex court should also hear the petition of PTI by forming a full court bench and decide over it.

Memon and Wahab in today’s media interaction alleged that PTI Chairman Imran Khan was instilling hatred in the minds of the people across the country and urged the Supreme Court to also take a notice of it.

They claimed that the former premier's motive was to keep under pressure the court, establishment and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for his gains.

Sharjeel claimed that the foreign funding case was very important. "It was not possible that there would be a separate law for PTI and another for others," he added.

Meanwhile, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira has endorsed the ruling of Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Mohammad Mazari in the election of chief minister Punjab.

“It was as per law and the constitution,” he said on Mazari's ruling while addressing a press conference earlier today.

Kaira said the deputy speaker had rejected the vote of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid party members in light of the apex court's decision.

"The members of a political party were bound to follow the decision of the party leadership and it was the prerogative of the party head to take decisions in favour of its voters," he clarified.

Mentioning the protest call of Imran khan, he said former premier was trying to influence the courts by provoking its voters to get decisions in his favour as he only accepted the decisions of his own choice.

Keeping in view the current political scenario, Kaira said the apex court should allow a full bench and give a comprehensive decision to avert other political crises.

He said that parliamentary matters should be resolved in the parliament instead of going to the courts every time, but unfortunately, it had now become a tradition to challenge the parliament’s ruling in the courts.

Rejecting accusations of horse-trading during the run-off election of the Punjab chief minister, he said that all the stories published and aired on television were fabricated.
