Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Dr Asif Mehmood Jah on Tuesday visited Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and addressed traders and businessmen. He discussed the complaints received at the FTO and highlighted its six-month performance. Jah said that out of about 3,000 complaints, 2,650 were addressed. For speedy resolution, the processing time has been reduced from 68 to 40 days. Besides handling taxpayers’ complaints, the FTO office was also checking maladministration in tax matters through suo motu notices and inspections. More than 75 suo motu cases were taken up over the last sixth months, he added.
