Pakistanis celebrated Eidul Azha on Sunday with traditional zeal and fervour but much of that enthusiasm has died down, courtesy – the heavy monsoon rains that hit Karachi like a truck. The port city is facing severe urban flooding and continuous torrential rainfall since Sunday night with predictions of heavy downpour to continue for hours to come today.
So, to make up for the gloomy weather and temporarily rid you of the consequent broodiness, we’ve compiled some of our favourite Eid looks, that were served on the first day of the annual, religious festival. Many of our divas dressed to the nines, despite moderate to heavy rain in various parts of the country, sticking to flowy fabrics and bright colours – a decision we can truly get behind.
Hania Aamir
Hania is no stranger to serving style inspos. The actor, who recently got a haircut, rocked her short bob with a white and black print on print shalwar kameez that looked absolutely gorgeous. Although minimal – without lace or any embroidery – she accentuated the look with blue and green bangles to add a pop of colour. Keeping her makeup minimal, she topped off with a bold wine lip that changed the game completely.
Ayesha Omar
Ayesha knows how to make it to every best-dressed list out there and there's no surprise she’s made it to this one too. The actor celebrated Eid in the US, donning a loose, orange kameez with pink and silver embroidery, complete with golden gotta work. She paired the Shamsha Hashwani attire with heavy gold jhumkas, straight white trouser and maroon khussa-chappals. Tying her hair into a sleek bun and keeping her makeup simple, the actor looked a 10/10.
Sarwat Gilani
On the first day of Eid, Sarwat opted for a cream-coloured luxury pret attire by Rizwan Beyg. The summer friendly fabric with detailed embroidered accents and white lace work looked stunning on the Cannes film festival winner. The actor kept her hair open and completed the look with pearl studs and nude makeup.
She also shared her look from the second day of Eid, wearing a long yellow floral shirt to die for. The sleeveless Farah Talib Aziz dress featured white lace work on on a shirt collar, extending all the way down the midriff.
Maya Ali
Maya went for a dreamy turquoise peshwas complemented with stunning hand embellishment in graceful monotone hues. The star kept her hair neatly tied into a bun and wore glowy, peachy makeup by Shoaib Khan. She paired her dress with light and dark blue bangles, alongside heavy white earrings flaunting blue accents.
Ayeza Khan
Ayeza looked ravishing in a bespoke traditional lilac gharara and kurti set by Mohsin Naveed Ranjha. The outfit with golden block prints and hand embellishments fit the actor like a glove and its lighter, almost pink coloured dupatta accentuated the attire entirely. She paired the ensemble with jhumkas and kept her hair down, tying the look together with a nude lip and striking bold eyes.
