RAWALPINDI:

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rawalpindi, will facilitate physically-challenged and visually-impaired candidates and those who lost their arms and limbs in accidents, with a writer throughout the ongoing examinations.

Acting Chairman Education Board Rawalpindi, Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal approved the new decision.

This proposal was presented by Nasir Awan, Controller of Examinations, Rawalpindi Board of Education on the applications of students with physical disabilities. He was of the view that under the existing rules and regulations, permanently disabled and blind candidates were allowed to take the help of a writing- facilitator, during examinations.

All such candidates are required to provide a sealed medical certificate from the MS of the District Headquarters Hospital, of their district stating that they are unable to write.

Intermediate and Secondary students will also have to provide the photo of the scribe.
