The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has firmly denied that Waqar Younis’ resignation from the post of the national team coach was due to differences with the board officials.

The PCB Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed refuted all such reports appearing in the media. “Waqar requested to be relieved from duty due to personal reasons,” he said. “Although it was a tough decision for the board, yet we understand his position.” Meanwhile, Waqar also came out strongly against all such suggestions. “It’s unfortunate that these stories appeared despite the fact that I talked in detail about the reasons of my resignation,” said Waqar. “All the stories about my differences with anyone are absolutely incorrect.”
