Buzdar’s ex-principal secretary faces corruption charges
Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has launched investigations over corruption charges against former chief minister Usman Buzdar's principal secretary Tahir Khursheed (TK). Allegedly, Khursheed received millions of rupees of bribe in return of approval of millions of rupees government projects.
He has also been accused of taking money for transfer, posting for the officers across Punjab. Khursheed has also been accused by ACE of taking bribe for approval of roads tenders.
He has been summoned by ACE on July 6. A few days back ACE had launched investigations against brother of TK, Kamran Khurhseed and others over corruption in Quaid-i-Azam Solar Power Private Limited (QASPL) project. They appeared before an ACE team on July 5 afterwards, ACE issued notices to TK. The project was meant to provide electricity in six districts of South Punjab.
TK's brother and other suspects in the case have been accused of violation of recruitment policy through nepotism. They have also been accused of awarding contracts to blue-eyed contractors. ACE had been investigating the matter of QASPL for over a month.
In mid June, it had arrested a frontman of TK over the corruption allegations.
Last year, NAB Lahore had also inquiry into a case of assets beyond means against TK.
