CIA police foil major terror bid in Gwadar

A huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during an operation from the port city, officials say

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Gwadar Police foiled a major terrorism bi in Balochistan’s strategic port town by seizing a huge cache of arms and ammunition during an operation on Tuesday, officials said.

Muhammad Tariq Mastoi, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said that Gwadar CIA police recovered rocket launchers, RPGs and other weapons during an operation.

Mastoi stated the miscreants had dumped weapons and rocket launchers in the Grok mountains to carry out a subversive activity in the district. “Acting on a tip off, CIA police foiled the terror bid,” he said.

The senior police official furthered that no arrests were made as the terrorists had fled from the spot before the arrival of police party.

Miscreants in the past have repeatedly targeted security forces and pro-government personalities in the port city.

Last month, security forces killed six terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Zamran range near Paroom area of Balochistan.

The military’s media wing, ISPPR, said law enforcers conducted an operation to apprehend the terrorists belonging to the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF). “Once the troops started clearance operation in the area, terrorists tried to escape from their hideout and opened fire on security forces,” it added.
