Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has ruled out the idea of joining politics any time soon, reported The Indian Express. The renowned star recently spoke at an event and was responding to a query posed to him by an attendee. As per news agency PTI, when asked about joining politics at the event, Kumar said he tries to do his bit through cinema.

"I am very happy making films... As an actor, I do whatever possible to take up social issues. I have produced 150 films, the one nearest to my heart is Raksha Bandhan. I produce commercial films, sometimes with social issues. I produce three-four films a year," Kumar who was the chief guest at the event, said. As per the report, Aanand L Rai's directorial Raksha Bandhan is his latest effort.

This is not the first time that Akshay has responded to a question about joining politics. Speaking on the sidelines of an event in Delhi in 2019, Akshay had replied, “Never, I want to be happy. I love films and I contribute to my country through my films. This is my job.”

On the work front, it was recently reported that Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal are all set to return for its third installment. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala, in a recent interview, confirmed working on Hera Pheri 3 and also revealed that the upcoming film will feature the original cast.

“You’ll get to see it very soon with the same star cast – Akshay Ji, Paresh Bhai and Suniel Ji. The story is in place, and we are working on certain modalities. It’ll be made in the same way, retaining the innocence of the characters. We can’t take past achievements for granted. So, we have to be extra careful in terms of our content, story, screenplay, characters and mannerism,” Nadiadwala told Bollywood Hungama.
