Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has set a target to dispose of 16,000 tonnes of sacrificial animal offal during Eidul Azha. The company has already finalised preparations for a grand cleanliness operation in the city during the three days of Eid.
Last Eid, 13,883 tonnes of offal was disposed of.
Over 2,500 company workers would participate in the Eid cleanliness operation, said MWMC CEO Muhammad Farooq Dogar while briefing the Punjab local government secretary via video link. He added that a total of 722 vehicles were being rented for the Eid operation. He elaborated that 264 vehicles would be rented for the first day of Eid, the same number of vehicles for the second day and 194 vehicles for the third day.
CEO Dogar said that 135 heavy vehicles and 88 loader rickshaws would also participate in the Eid cleanliness operation, while 25 officers would monitor the work.
Additionally, 15 public awareness camps and 16 temporary collection points would be established to collect the offal of sacrificial animals, he said, adding that special cleanliness arrangements would be made for 16 collective slaughterhouses in the city.
The CEO said that the process of purchasing rose essence, phenyl and liming was completed to ensure a pollution-free environment.
