At least 3 persons were killed while 2 others suffered critical injuries in two different road accidents in district Abbottabad.

In the first incident, a tourist family of Lahore was visiting Ambrella waterfall in the area of Nara Police Station when their car plunged into a deep gorge after the driver lost his control over the vehicle, said the police, adding that a woman died on the spot and two others sustained critical injuries. According to the locals the accident took place due to speeding.

Nara police and locals immediately rescued the two injured and recovered the body of the woman. Nara police shifted the injured and dead body to Type-D hospital Havelian.

In another road accident, two people including a minor girl died on Murree Road Nawan Shahr Abbottabad when an speeding car struck a pedestrians, including a six-years-old-girl Jannat Bibi.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place due to a race between two speeding vehicles, from which one was a Mehran car which rammed into the passers-by on Murree Road. A man named Zahoor and Janat Bibi were killed in the accident.

The witnesses said that the minor girl was selling peanuts in a basket to help his parents in making a living. Nawanshahr police station registered a preliminary report.

Locals shifted the body to the Jinnah Hospital Abbottabad where later they were handed over to the family after completion of medico-legal formalities.

Abbottabad Rescue 1122 has provided its services in 606 accidents to the people on various emergency calls to save their lives and property during the month of June only.

Abbottabad Rescue 1122 spokesman Sajid Iqbal while briefing about the monthly report of June 2022 said that a total of 41,774 calls were received where 22,563 calls were fake. Rescue 1122 Abbottabad has provided its timely and professional emergency services with an average response time of 6 minutes and 25 seconds to 606 people.

During the month of June 2022, 41 incidents of road traffic accidents, 436 incidents of medical emergencies, 88 incidents of fires, 01 incidents of crime or shooting and 40 incidents of other emergencies (recovery) took place. A total of 606 people were affected in these emergencies while 493 people after being rescued and given first aid later shifted to the hospital. In these accidents, 08 people lost their lives on the spot.

Rescue 22 11 Abbottabad led referral ambulance services also improved their performance. Rescue 1122 on 189 emergency calls carried out shifting services from one hospital to another through the referral ambulance service, 06 patients were shifted to outside the district while during 183 emergencies, patients were shifted to different hospitals in Abbottabad city.
