People urged to get booster shots

Masks, SOPs fail to curb coronavirus as rate of infections on the rise

KARACHI:

There is a need to convince people to take booster shots of Covid vaccine besides adopting SOPs like wearing masks and social distancing as the new variant of the pandemic has emerged in the city, said Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho.

In a meeting with Director EPI, Dr. Irshad Memon and Covid Focal Person, Dr. Sohail Shiekh today to discuss the rising cases of covid-19.

The Minister for Health stated that there must be continued efforts for increasing of awareness regarding the importance of wearing face masks, getting the Covid vaccines booster shot four months after the previous shot and practicing social distancing. Dr. Azra said that the city cannot be forced to go under another lockdown which is why it is highly necessary that the community at large understands the importance of covid SOPs and follows them.
