Five MDA officials sacked over alleged corruption

Sources remarked that the officers were involved in incorrect measurement of 27 plots, causing loss of Rs340 million

MULTAN:

Secretary Housing South Punjab Javed Akhtar Mahmood ordered action against five officers of Multan Development Authority (MDA) for alleged corruption of Rs340 million on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the suspected officers included Muhammad Ashraf, Mohsin Raza, Waqas Ahmed, Afaaq Bhatti, and Waqar Ali Qureshi. The secretary housing deputed Jam Baqa as the inquiring officer and he was was bound to submit report within 60 days. Meanwhile, the officers were also instructed to submit their reply within next seven days.

Official sources remarked that the officers were allegedly involved in the incorrect measurement of 27 plots, causing a loss of nearly Rs340 million to the government exchequer.
