RAWALPINDI:

Awami Muslim League (AML) Chairman Sheikh Rashid on Saturday declared that the coalition government will "have to go home by July”, provided that dissident members of the PTI face defeat in the by-polls.

The former interior minister’s statement came shortly after PTI chief Imran Khan issued a call for a fresh protest rally against the government on July 2.

In a video statement, Rashid jeered the incumbent government as a “gang of dacoits”, adding that Imran Khan has “exposed” the recent tweaks made to accountability laws by the government.

He asserted that the people of Rawalpindi would fully participate in the PTI's protest rally to be held at Islamabad's Parade Ground.

“The month of July is very crucial. The government will be sent packing by the next month, mark my words,” the AML chief predicted.
