ECP against putting off local govt elections

All arrangements for first phase of LB elections have been completed

KARACHI:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in its reply to a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) regarding local body elections has opposed the postponement of local body elections. The reply submitted to the court by the commission said that all the stationery related to the local body elections is ready while ballot papers have also been printed.

All arrangements for the first phase of the LB elections have been completed while requirements for the first phase of local body elections, including supply of material is being made . In addition, the nomination papers for the second phase of local body elections are also being collected. The ECP in its reply to the petition said that all political parties, including the petitioner, are participating in the election.
