The singer dropped the first song from her upcoming album 'Renaissance' earlier than anticipated

The Beyhive was already buzzing with excitement at the news of Beyonce’s new single dropping but Queen B took fans by surprise when she released her single Break My Soul earlier than fans anticipated. The song is the first single to drop from her upcoming seventh solo album, Renaissance and it is everything fans had been hoping for since six years. The song is an instant head-bopper and co-produced by the same team as Single Ladies including Tricky Stewart and The-Dream.

This ‘disco-fied’ new song is the perfect beat for the dance floor and its compelling beat, consistent hook and the recurring exhortations from Big Freedia add the anthem-like element to this song like many of Beyonce’s others. The writing credits include Jay-Z, Adam Pigott, Big Freedia and the writers of Robin S’s Show Me Love.

As per Variety, the song was initially released on Tidal, a streaming service partly owned by Jay-Z, three hours before the previously announced release time of midnight ET. Earlier on Thursday, Beyonce had announced that the much awaited album will be released on 29 July, 2022. According to Variety, sources reported that the album would include tracks that lean towards dance and country. Ryan Tedder, the writer of Bey’s 2008 hit, Halo will also be making contributions as a songwriter to the album.

After much investigation, fans have found details that suggest the album will be a 16 track album and the multi-release may suggest that this may just be ‘Act 1’ of the many more to come. Like always, Beyonce is the queen of impact and the first hint that something was coming was when she completely wiped her social media accounts that are yet to be filled again.

Beyonce has dropped four albums since her hit album, Lemonade, in 2016, but none of these were solo albums. In 2018 she dropped Everything is Love with husband Jay-Z, in 2019 she dropped Homecoming and the same summer she continued with The Lion King: The Gift, an album featuring several other artists like Kendrick Lamar, 070 Shake and African artists like Tiwa Savage.
