Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has been churning out ambitious projects one after another. The actor, who earlier revealed his highly-anticipated project, Brahmastra, with his wife and superstar, Alia Bhatt and megastar Amitabh Bachchan, will next be seen in Karan Malhotra's Shamshera.
The Yash Raj production will release on July 22, the makers announced Monday. 'Introducing Shamshera – the fierce warrior & the saviour of his tribe," the poster was captioned along with Ranbir's first look as the protagonist.

The actor looks almost unrecognisable in a rugged, de-shelved look, which serves as a contrast to his avatar in Ayan Mukerji's directorial, Brahmastra. Donning long trusses and an unruly beard, the Tamasha star seemingly has nailed the brief.
However, the look of the film was leaked online two days ago. Speaking with news agency ANI, Karan said about Shamshera, "We keep planning our lives so that we land things at the perfect time but in doing so we forget that the Universe is always on time. Incidents like these are a true example of that! I'm just happy that people and fans of Ranbir Kapoor are loving his look and the poster of Shamshera."
"We wanted to start our campaign mid-next week, but it looks like fans couldn't wait for us to begin. I don't blame them. They have waited for too long. Ranbir is returning to the cinemas after 4 years, and it is difficult to control the excitement. I'm just glad that the reactions are great," he added.
Shamshera brings together Ranbir and Sanjay for the first time together alongside Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui star. Speaking about working with Ranbir for 'Shamshera', Vaani said, "Ranbir Kapoor is a pleasure to work with because he brings so much work ethic to the table. He is also a selfless actor who wants to creatively collaborate in a way that each scene turns out to be the best. I had so much fun working and exchanging notes with him. I think Ranbir and I have given our best for Shamshera. We are definitely a fresh pairing on screen and I hope people love watching us together."
Vaani hopes that her chemistry with Ranbir will be talked about. She added, "We have been told that we have great chemistry but I hope that audiences too feel the same when they see us. It's a film that everyone's waiting for, have worked really hard to bring something new to the table and as actors, we only want to entertain everyone to the fullest with Shamshera."
