JI holds workers convention to kick off LG polls campaign

A large number of women and children also turned up at the convention

KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karach held a big general workers’ convention at New MA Jinnah Road in connection with the upcoming local bodies elections, to be held on July 24, here on Sunday.

A large number of party workers and candidates for councilor and chairman as well as vice chairman for some 250 union councils in Karachi. People belonging to various fields of life, area notables from neighborhoods across the city and political activists participated in the convention. A large number of women and children also turned up at the convention.

On the occasion, candidates participating in the local bodies polls were also introduced. JI leader Dr Osama Razi and others also addressed the event.

In his keynote address, JI Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that all the available options, other than the JI, in the political arena failed Karachi and Karachiites.
