Seminar organised to create dengue awareness

RDA also highlights preventive measures against the disease

RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) organised a seminar and a walk in connection with anti-dengue awareness campaign.

Following the directives of RDA's Director General (DG), a pamphlet on dengue awareness and prevention was also distributed among the citizens on Murree Road, Rawalpindi.

The seminar and walk were attended by RDA Admin and Finance Director Asif Mehmood Janjua, RDA Engineering Director Amir Rashid, RDA Admin Deputy Director Iftikhar Ali, Rawlpindi Deputy District Health Officer (DDHO) Dr Naveed Akhtar Malik and other officers as well as staff.

The RDA Admin and Finance Director thanked the health department officers and gave a briefing on standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the prevention of dengue.

The DDHO said that the public is requested to ensure that water does not stagnate at their homes.

He appreciated the work of RDA Anti-Dengue Team, especially RDA Dengue Focal Person Ali Raza and hoped that their efforts will continue in future.

The RDA DG has urged the citizens to take special care and priority measures for cleanliness and said that water should not be allowed to accumulate in open spaces and corners of the house.

He advised the general public to use mosquito repellent spray regularly and directed the RDA officials to take steps to prevent dengue spread in the office premises.
