Family member says police not cooperating in Irfan's recovery

Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DG Rangers Sindh, and others on the petitions regarding the recovery of missing persons. The court heard petitions seeking the recovery of missing persons.

The sister of one of the missing persons said, "Irfan was detained on June 13 within the limits of Baghdadi police station. Irfan was detained while returning home from work late at night.

Irfan isn't a member of any political group. Police are not cooperating in Irfan's recovery."

The court issued notices to the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DG Rangers, IG Sindh, and Advocate General Sindh seeking reply from them.

Petition against charged parking contract

The Sindh High Court has issued notices to Administrator Karachi, Secretary Local Government, District Municipal Corporation (DMC) South, Director Charged Parking, SHOs Preedy, and Boat Basin on the plea against granting charged parking contracts to favoured people at Boat Basin Cooperative Market.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar heard the petition.

The petitioner's lawyer stated, "In January 2021, the parking auction was conducted.

We have given the highest bid and fulfilled following all the rules. The contract was awarded to favoured persons, which was against the guidelines. The contract should be given to us."

The court issued notices to Administrator Karachi, Secretary Local Government, DMC South, Director Charged Parking, SHOs Preedy, and Boat Basin seeking a reply from the parties by July 1.
