CHICHAWATNI:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has kicked off its campaign for the by-election on PP-202 by taking out a rally and addressing the party workers at a hotel in Chichawatni on Thursday.

Those who addressed the workers included party stalwarts Dr Yasmin Rashid, Hammad Azhar and Andalib Abbas. The by-election on PP-202 is scheduled to take place on July 17.

At the event, PTI leaders sharply criticised the government and the PDM.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that Rana Sanaullah was such a nonentity that he could not even face the women of PTI who were more than a match for him. “It used to be a sin for the PML-N to talk to the PPP members. Now they have become allies for their vested interests,” she said.

Referring to an alleged event that was said to have taken place during the electioneering in 1988 in which some pictures of the PPP leaders had been dropped from a helicopter allegedly at the behest of Nawaz Sharif, Dr Yasmin Rashid said, “Bilawal Bhutto ... if you were the son of your mother, you would not have shaken hands with Nawaz Sharif, but you are the son of your father Asif Zardari, and you fell prey to the demands of expediency to advance your political interests.”

Recalling the PTI government’s services in providing healthcare to the people, the PTI leader said that people paid their tribute to the PTI leaders whenever they happened to pass by a hospital.

They used to say that Imran Khan had increased petrol and diesel rates and that he should resign, she said.

Dr Yasmin Rashid said the incumbent government had increased the price of petrol by Rs84.
