ISLAMABAD:

Stakeholders of the public and private sectors have stressed the need for collective efforts to provide financial services for the lowest tier of society in a bid to increase economic growth and financial inclusion.

A conference was held on Tuesday to highlight how the access to banking and financial services proved to be a game changer in catalysing economic growth and for the low-income groups.

Speaking at the event, Special Adviser to PM Romina Khurshid Alam said that women’s economic empowerment was a key priority of the government and encouraged the promotion of initiatives for reaching the “underbanked segments” of the population, especially women.
