Sports allocations up by 68 per cent

Rs100 million have been allocated to organize Thar Jeep Rally

Presenting the Sindh Budget for Financial year 2022-23 CM Murad Ali Shah said youth are the future of our nation and sports activities channelize their energies in positive direction.

He said the provincial government has made an allocation of Rs1.802 billion for Sports and Youth Affairs Department which is 68% higher than the allocation for FY 2021-22 for Rs.1.069 billion.

One of the prime objectives of government of Sindh is instilling a positive attitude in the youth by engaging them in sports and healthy activities so that they do not fall prey to drugs, violence and bad habits, the CM said.

Further, in order to promote sports in Sindh Rs100 million have been allocated to organize Thar Jeep Rally.

Moreover an amount of Rs150 million has been kept for Sindh Games against the 2021-22 allocation was Rs100 million. In addition to above and in order to improve hockey as the national game, an allocation of Rs422 million has been set aside as a grant by the Sindh being first tranche out of Rs845 million for construction of Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium in Karachi.
