The Sindh government's Transport and Mass Transit Department has decided to start a trial run of People's Intra District Bus Service, part of ‘People’s Bus Service Project, in Karachi from tomorrow (Saturday).
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon, according to an official statement issued on Friday.
The minister said the test trial of the new bus service will be conducted tomorrow at 4pm on route one from Malir’s Model Colony to Avari Towers in Clifton area of the metropolis.
Memon said the citizens of Karachi were anxiously awaiting the start of new bus service and added that it will become fully operational in a few days after the completion of the test drive phase.
The minister said the provincial government was taking measures to solve the long-standing problem of public transport in Karachi.
“The Department of Transport is working day and night to provide modern mass transit facilities to the citizens,” he was quoted as saying in the statement.
An impressive line of red buses will make their way to the streets of Karachi on Saturday. The bus line named 'People's Bus Service' promises a better and safer mode of transport for civilians.
