A 41-year-old kidney patient committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of the Civil Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Tariq. The strife-stricken family of Tariq held the hospital responsible for his suicide.
They said that Tariq visited the Civil Hospital to undergo dialysis where the doctors allegedly told him to come after five months. Tariq’s family alleged that he got so dejected that he jumped from the third floor of the hospital.
The Medical Superintendent of the Civil Hospital, Dr Asif Salimi, refuted the allegation leveled by Tariq’s family.
Dr Salimi said that Tariq visited the hospital and had had a dialysis late at night.
The official said that Tariq’s family had stayed in the hospital overnight because they did not have money for transportation. He said that Tariq’s family had been having breakfast in the morning when Tariq committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of the Kidney Ward.
The medical superintendent claimed that preliminary investigation did not reveal any negligence on part of the staff.
Upon receiving the report of suicide, the deputy commissioner rushed to the spot.
He met the family members of the deceased and formed a committee to investigate into the matter.
