Swabi head constable stabbed to death

Cop was found dead in his residence

SWABI:

A head constable of Swabi police was found stabbed to death inside his house in Swabi district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Tuesday.

His father-in-law Bihar Ali lodged an FIR with Dobian Police Station stating that his son-in-law Afzal Sadiq was a head constable in K-P police.

“On Monday his wife visited our house and Afzal Sadiq went to Mardan for some urgent work,” he said, adding that his wife tried to contact him but he was not picking up his phone.

“After repeated attempts when he didn’t attend his phone, we left for his home. The main door was locked from the outside and when we entered it we found Sadiq dead inside his room. He had been stabbed as well as shot. A knife was still inside his body,” he said.

The complainant said that the attackers took his mobile phone, personal pistol and wallet with them before escaping.

He said that the deceased had no enmity with anyone and it was a case of terrorism.

Police registered an FIR and opened an investigation into the case.
