Lahore man gets e-ticket for his bike stolen eight years ago

To make matters worse, victim finds out that his bike was being used by police personnel at the time of violation

Imagine getting fined for a traffic violation pertaining to a motorcycle that was stolen no less than eight years ago.

That's what exactly happened to a resident of Lahore when he received an electronic challan also called e-ticket.

To make matters worse, Imran – the victim – found out that his long lost bike was being used by police officials themselves in the Sabzarar neighbourhood.

The surprising discovery made the man file a complaint with the Chief Civilian Personnel Officer (CCPO), asking for his bike's recovery from the cops using it.

According to a report released in March, the scourge of street crimes in the provincial capital seems to have spiralled out of control.

According to police records, during the last two days of February, more than 300 incidents of looting by robbers and thieves were reported in the city while the month of March started with about 350 incidents in the provincial capital.

In the first two months of this year, people lost millions of rupees in cash, gold jewellery, vehicles and motorcycles.

According to records, goods worth more than Rs10 million were looted in 209 robberies, while 59 cases of motorcycle theft were registered at the time.
