A suspect was killed while another was injured in an incident of an exchange of fire with police in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. A rickshaw driver was also injured in the firing. Four other accomplices of the accused managed to escape.
Police recovered weapons, motorcycle and other items from the possession of the accused. The accused have been arrested and jailed before
According to details, six accused on three motorbikes were snatching a civilian in a car near NIPA Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile a police party on patrolling reached the spot. In this regard, SHO Gulshan Iqbal Ashraf Jogi told The Express Tribune that the accused opened fire as soon as they saw the police and tried to flee. Police also open fire in retaliation, killing one accused and injuring another.

Four accomplices of the accused managed to escape. SHO said that a rickshaw driver named Jagan son of Salahuddin was also injured in firing. The dead and injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital. The condition of the injured accused is also critical. Police recovered weapons, a motorcycle, several snatched mobile phones, cash and other items from the suspects. SHO said the accused had criminal records.
