Police arrest father of nominated killer for facilitating murder

Family and friends of young Jazlan, who was killed at a housing society on Super Highway, staged a protest outside the Expo Center in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. The protesters, holding placards demanding justice for Jazlan, also lit candles.

Jazlan was shot dead by a youth over asking a biker not to do stunts on road. The relatives of the slain youth demanded of the Supreme Court Chief Justice to take notice of the case.

The protesters also staged a sit -in on the road for a while and later dispersed peacefully.

Meanwhile, Gadap investigation police arrested Muhammad Faiz, father of accused Hasnain involved in Jazlan's murder on charges of facilitating a murderer. Hasnain had shot and killed Jazlan and injured his friend Shameer with his father's licenced pistol on the night of May 26 at a private housing society on the Huper Highway.

Injured Shameer while recording his statement had said that he along with his friends were going to meet his cousin Ibrahim in a private society located on Super Highway.On the way, they had an altercation with a speeding motorcyclist, Hasnain.

Hasnain called his friends and as soon as we reached the society, the accused opened fire indiscriminately, injuring Jazlan and him.

The accused Hasnain, Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Ehsan fled the scene.

He further added said that "Our friends rushed us to a private hospital near the stadium. Shortly afterwards, Jazlan died. Jazlan was shot in the head"

Police registered a case against the three accused at the instigation of the victim's real uncle Arif Sabir after the statement of the injured. Police arrested Hasnain shortly afterwards. The accused stated in his statement that the weapon belonged to his father Muhammad Faiz.
