Bilawal felicitates newly-elected body of CPNE
Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Sunday felicitated the newly-elected body of the Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE).
According to a statement issued by the PPP Media Cell, the party chairman, in his message, felicitated CPNE’s new President Kazim Khan and General Secretary Mian Amir Mahmood.
He extended his best wishes to Ayaz Khan on being elected as Senior Vice President, Yousuf Nizami as Deputy Secretary-General, Ghulam Nabi Chandio as Finance Secretary, Zubair Mehmood as Information Secretary, Dr Jabbar Khattak as CPNE Sindh Vice President, Maqsood Yousufi as CPNE Sindh Joint Secretary, Haider Amin as Punjab CPNE Vice President, Salman Masood as CPNE Islamabad Vice President, Tahir Farooque as CPNE Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Vice President, and Arif Baloch as CPNE Balochistan Vice President.

The foreign minister also felicitated the CPNE’s standing committee of 44 newly-elected members. He expressed his fervent hope that the role of CPNE in cementing democracy and freedom of press would be commendable as was the history of the CPNE.
The PPP believed in freedom of media and would extend all possible cooperation for ensuring freedom of expression and press in the country and the development of dynamic media, Bilawal added.
On Saturday, CPNE on Saturday elected its office-bearers for the year 2022-23. Daily Times Lahore Group Editor Kazim Khan was elected as the president, Daily Express Lahore Group Editor Ayaz Khan as the senior vice president, Monthly Kiran Digest Karachi Chief Editor Aamer Mahmood as secretary-general, and Pakistan Today Editor Yousaf Nizami was elected as the deputy secretary-general.
92 News Lahore Editor-in-Chief Muhammad Haider Amin was elected as the Punjab vice president, Nawa-e-Waqt Islamabad Editor Salman Masood as the Islamabad vice president, Awami Awaaz Karachi Editor-in-Chief Dr Jabbar Khattak as the Sindh vice president, Ittehad Peshawar Editor-in-Chief Tahir Farooq as the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa vice-president, Daily Balochistan Express Quetta Editor-in-Chief Arif Baloch as the Balochistan vice president.
These officials were elected at a meeting of the newly elected standing committee. Forty-four new people, including President Khan, were elected as members of the standing committee for this year.
