Eight killed in Punjab road accidents

At least eight people died and 1213 were injured in 1067 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Of the injured, 718 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 495 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site.

The majority of RTCs involved motorbikes. Further analysis showed that 603 drivers, 34 underage drivers, 108 pedestrians, and 510 passengers were among the victims of RTCs.

The statistics show that 239 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 309 victims, placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list.

Multan followed behind with 83 RTCs and 81 victims and Faisalabad at third with 78 RTCs and 84 victims.

The details further reveal that 1213 victims were affected by RTCs, including 998 males & 223 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 254 were under 18 years of age, 631 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 336 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
