LAHORE:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a cracking down on foreign and domestic currency smugglers at airports across the country, on the instructions of the Interior Ministry.

Immigration officials have been instructed at all airports across the country to take action against those carrying more than the prescribed amount of domestic and foreign currency, including travel documents of travelers going abroad.

FIA immigration staff taking action at Lahore airport offloaded Naeem, a passenger bound for Sharjah, for illegally carrying 119,000 Saudi riyals and handed him over to customs officials and initiated further investigation.
