Role of nurses in health sector termed vital

Speakers at seminar call for better service structure, facilities

President of the Young Nurses Association of Lahore General Hospital, Khalida Tabassum, has said that the medical field is incomplete without the participation of nurses, as they play a key role in patient care, treatment and healing everyone coming to the hospital.

She added that in the present era, nursing has become the hallmark of the health sector, while improvements have been made and the services of nurses are being widely acknowledged at every level now.

She expressed these views while addressing a seminar titled ‘The Role of Nurses in Healing the Patient’, held at LGH on Sunday. Punjab Nursing Director General Kausar Ameer, provincial president of Young Nurses Association Rozeena Manzoor, Tauseef Khanam, Shamshad Niazi, Services Hospital Nursing College Principal Isma Taj and other senior faculty and medical officials addressed the event. A large number of nurses were also present.

Principal Taj stated that the care of a nurse “is a ray of moral hope for a struggling patient.”

Rozeena Manzoor, Tauseef Khanum and Shamshad Niazi said that nurses who take care of human life should be facilitated with better service structure and improved facilities, a sense of security and their basic rights and the government should solve their problems on a priority basis.
