Police traced the suspects behind a theft that took place in Mouza Jharkal erlier this week, arresting four suspected thieves.
District Police Officer (DPO) Khushab Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, while addressing a press conference, stated that earlier this week, a robbery took place in the Chananwala area of Jharkal. Unidentified suspects stole Rs200,000 worth of cash and gold and silver jewelery and fled.
A police team was formed under the supervision of DSP Circle Noorpur Thal Muhammad Iqbal and SHO Noorpur Police Station Omar Farooq Shah. They began searching for the thieves using the forensic evidence collected and eventually arrested them.
The arrested accused include Mohammad Asif, Sheikh Naseem, Mohammad Atiq and Abid Hussain, all residents of Noorpur Thal.
DPO Khushab said that Rs2 million in cash and jewelery were recovered from the accused and returned to the victim. The accused were jailed on judicial remand.
Locals added that the victims are mentally differently-abled and suffer from a condition in which their vision is impaired at night. Taking advantage of this, the accused burgled their home.
