The lawyer for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed on Thursday that the report of the scrutiny committee of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) contained numerous errors and omissions and raised the question under what criteria the party’s funding record was termed unreliable.
Lawyer Anwar Mansoor continued his arguments before a three-member bench of the ECP in the foreign funding case. He said that the scrutiny committee assessed the PTI’s balance in the wrong way. He added that all the PTI donors were Pakistanis.
Bench member Nisar Durrani inquired if all the records was contained in the scrutiny committee report. Anwar Mansoor replied that "we have submitted all the records to the scrutiny committee, but the committee, without seeing the record wrote that those funds were not verified.
Mansoor argued that there were innumerable errors and omissions in the report of the scrutiny committee. He requested for giving further arguments on the next hearing, on which the proceedings were adjourned till Tuesday.
