Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday commended the overall operational readiness of the formations against an evolving threat regime, the military said in a statement.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief gave these remarks while attending the war game session at Kharian aimed at refinement and crystallisation of the formation’s plans.
The COAS also witnessed field demonstration encompassing perfection of drills/procedures and validation of new concepts and proficiency enhancement on newly acquired technologies.

According to the ISPR, Gen Qamar appreciated the overall training spirit and proficiency of participating troops.
At the war game session, the statement added, the army chief reviewed the planning process and operational preparedness of Central Command’s Strike formations.
The COAS commended the overall operational readiness of the formations against an evolving threat regime while further emphasising learning relevant lessons from the ongoing conflicts around the world.
Earlier, on arrival the COAS was received by Commander Central Command Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazher Mahmood, the statement further said.
In November last year, General Qamar had witnessed the culmination phase of a corps-level exercise in Kharian, aimed at validating operational concepts as a sequel to Army War Games, the ISPR said.
It said that the exercise aimed at enhancing operational preparedness of formations, encompassing defensive and offensive tasks for various contingencies.
The military’s media wing further said that the exercise involved the employment of the latest weapon systems including VT-4 tanks and combat air support.
