Serial entrepreneur Muhamad Jamal loves all things nature. He is also the quintessential family man. Proud mom of three- Ameneh S. Mehboob initiated Whisk-O- a home based purveyor of fine Greek yoghurt, granola and savoury dips.
The brother-sister duo speaks to T.Edit about their unconditional bond. From sneaking out together to having each other’s back, the two share it all!
What’s your first memory of each other?
Muhammad -Her and I playing in my grandfather’s garden with our dog.
Amenah - My first memory of us is from this one photograph, I remember where I was holding my brother when he was a tiny baby whilst sitting on the bed.
What is the craziest thing you have done together?
Muhammad- Sneaked out with our maid when we were extremely young and getting on a bus to see the Quaid’s Mazar.
Amenah- I have more memories from our childhood. The craziest thing we did together was that every weekend we used to go on crazy fun rides in Fun land, Karachi.
What did you get punished for the most as a child?
Muhammad- Not studying.
Amenah- I was punished if I wouldn’t study. My father was very particular about education.
If you could swap places with each other, what’s the first thing you would do?
Muhammad- Take a chill pill.
Amenah- I would get as ripped as him and be as good looking. My mom says “he’s the best looking amongst all her four children”.
What is the one thing you love about your sibling?
Muhammad- Extremely loving and caring human being. She is a complete sacrificial goat to be honest.
Amenah- The one thing I love about my brother is that I can always count on him no matter what. I know he’s there for me and vice versa.
What annoys you the most about your sibling?
Muhammad- Her mothering me after spying on me.
If you are fighting with each other, how do you make up?
Muhmmad- I have recently learnt to apologise otherwise all our life it was her who made the first move.
Amenah- Well, I usually stop talking to him and keep my distance. However, if it’s my fault I usually apologise. I don’t have any qualms about it. Life’s too short.
What is the one secret talent your sibling has, that you wish you did too?
Muhammad- Superwoman who can juggle 10 things at the same time.
Amenah - He has an aura about him that people generally get attracted towards. He’s simple, down to earth and natural.
What is the most cherished memory you share with your sibling?
Muhammad- Crying with each other in our good and bad times.
Amenah- All my moments with my brother are amazing. However, I had a lovely time with him when my husband and I went to visit him in Edinburgh when he was studying there. We spent the whole day walking, talking, eating and enjoying ourselves.
Describe your sibling in three words:
Muhammad- Loving, caring, a fighter.
Amenah- Helpful, there in times of need, sensitive.
Which fictional character is your sibling most like?
Muhammad- Honestly can’t think of one, no one measures up to her.
Amenah- He displays the character of Maui from Moana who’s social, bold, bombastic and mischievous. His manner of carrying himself matches his current physique, and is larger-than-life.
How are your personalities similar?
Muhmmad- We have the same moral compass. Amenah- We both are helpful, caring and try to go out of our way to make everyone happy around us.
Something you would want to change about your sibling?
Muhammad- For her to make herself a priority before anyone else.
Amenah- I want him to be settled in life with his perfect soul mate and be a phupo to cute nieces and nephews.
I can’t live without my brother/sister because…
Muhammad- She has been the pillar I stand on, the wall which protects me.
Amenah- He’s my rock and my backbone. I know I can count on him and he will be there for me.
