ISLAMABAD:

The federal government on Friday announced that its employees will continue with a six-day work week and will not revert to five working days.

Following the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Establishment Division issued a notification stating that the working hours of government offices have been changed to 8 am to 3 pm while on Fridays, working hours will be from 8 am to 1 pm.

Earlier, office hours were from 9 am to 5 pm.

On April 12, taking charge of the Prime Minister's Office, premier Shehbaz announced a six-day workweek for government offices.

Subsequently, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) decided to observe a six-day working week with revised working hours, issuing the notification to all commercial banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks.

Read Economy to face further pressure

As a result, bankers across the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad staged protests outside the press clubs and SBP buildings against the government's decision.

Are they giving increment or raised or any overtime to the bankers why we served extra hours without any compensation What about Labor Law Now all the judiciary members are sleeping nobody going to act on such decisions
khalid jamil khan | 2 years ago | Reply weekly working hours remain 40. Six days working or 5 days working. 6 days working causes 20 extra expenses in terms of fuel electricity and envoirnment demage. That too in foreign exchange. It is an injurious decision.
