Revenue rises to record Rs14b in April

PRA has so far received tax revenue of over Rs138.7 billion

The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) registered a substantial growth in collection of sales tax on services in April. According to the PRA spokesperson, the provisional revenue figures show that the authority collected tax revenue of over Rs14.112 billion in April 2022, the highest-ever collection in April, showing an unprecedented growth of 45% compared to Rs9.720 billion collected in April 2021. PRA has so far received tax revenue of over Rs138.7 billion in the first 10 months of current fiscal year 2021-22, with a substantial growth of 19% over Rs117 billion collected in the same time period of last year. This shows that “the authority is well on track to surpass its target of Rs155.9 billion for the year,” the spokesperson said.
