Man suffers burns in house blaze

Valuables including a vehicle, wheat crop, transformer, yarns and furniture were destroyed in fire incidents reported around the district.

While attempting to extinguish a fire, a youth was hospitalised with burns. A wagon parked in Haveli near Sheikhupura Road caught fire due to a short circuit.

The flames burned the wagon to ashes. Meanwhile, wheat husks were burned near Chowla Pali Jhang Road. However, the flames, carried by the wind, engulfed a nearby house.

The house was gutted and animals were burned alive, while 37-year-old Ghulam Shabbir suffered burns when he tried putting out the fire.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot, contained the fire and shifted Ghulam Shabir to hospital after first aid. Separately, a fire broke out in a furniture shop on 164 RB Jhumra Road due to a short circuit, destroying the furniture, chairs and other items therein.

Meanwhile, a transformer caught fire in Chiniot Bazaar due to short circuit.

Finally, a fire broke out in a thread shop on Solang Stop due to a short circuit. The flames engulfed the shop, burning the yarn and other goods.
