ISLAMABAD:

The trend of inviting friends and family over sehri meals is gaining momentum in twin cities, therefore, local restaurants are offering special 'sehri deals' to attract customers during Ramazan.

Traditional food spots of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are offering special sehri packages aimed at inviting families since coronavirus restrictions have been relaxed and they have permission to use halls to serve customers.

A customer at these venues said the tradition of eating out on sehri is popular among foodies who flock in large numbers to enjoy desi delights like makhni cholay, nihari, siri paya and parathas. “Everyone is busy in their life and cannot get enough time to prepare sehri at midnight so many restaurants are offering special sehri buffet to make our Ramadan more special,” said a lady customer.

A number of hotels and restaurants become lively during Ramzan as the trend is beginning to gain momentum, said another customer.

Another citizen said, “To make Sehri memorable, some exciting and tempting deals for Ramazan are available in various food points in the country.”

Sehr dine-outs with fancy huge menus have become a trend over recent years, said another woman.

A worker at a famous food outlet said, “We are trying our best to deliver quality standard food during sehri.” Khajla Pheni, a well-known item during Ramazan, has become one of the most popular items sold all over Pakistan, said a shopkeeper. The trend to have iftari at restaurants with friends and family has been in vogue for many years, and in recent times, the innovative sehri meals at restaurants have also become a regular feature of Ramazan, said a citizen.
