Sindh High Court (SHC) has accepted protective bail plea of Pakistan People Pakistan MNA Jam Abdul Karim for three days in Nazim Jokhio murder case.
An SHC bench Thursday heard the bail plea of Jam Abdul Karim and other nominated suspects in the Nazim Jokhio murder case.
The court while ordering the accused persons to resort to Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) within three days accepted the protective bail plea of Jam Abdul Karim.
Meanwhile, Anti-Terrorism Administrative Court Judge has ordered to transfer Nazim Jokhio Murder case to Special Anti-Terrorism Court No15 at the Karachi Central Jail Anti-Terrorism Complex.
Investigating officer (IO) of the case Siraj Lashari and others appeared before the court.
The lawyer of a social organisation filed a petition seeking permission for the assistance of the public prosecutor and stated that the Sindh High Court today ordered the accused to approach the special anti-terrorism court within three days.
Jokhio’s tortured body was found at the Jam House, said to be owned by MPA Jam Awais, in Jam Goth on November 3, 2021.
SBCA central chief issued show cause notice
An SHC bench has issued show cause notice to the SBCA Central director for not submitting reply to the petition regarding illegal constructions in Federal B Area Block 14.
Expressing anger, the court remarked that despite the notice, construction is going on, which means you SBCA people support it.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi heard the petition.
Petitioner's counsel contended that commercial constructions are being carried out on residential plots 431, 581. The court asked when the reply will be submitted? Are you people waiting for the construction to be completed?
The bench issued show cause notice to the SBCA Central director and ordered him to explain the reason of not complying with the orders.
Case against builder
SHC has issued orders to file a case against a builder regarding construction of ground-plus-four building in Gulbahar and sought explanation from SBCA DG within 30 days for non-compliance with the orders.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi heard the petition. The court was furious over non-filing of case against the builder.
It was argued during the hearing that citizens did not know the reality and bought portions but SBCA knew everything. The court ordered SBCA DG to submit an explanation within 30 days.
