The much-awaited decision by the Supreme Court was finally delivered on Thursday. The apex court ruled that National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri's dismissal of the no-confidence motion was unconstitutional.

Following the momentous decision, politicians on both sides of the political spectrum as well as ardent supporters took to social media to express their opinions on the landmark verdict.

The united opposition celebrated the court order, hailing it as 'historic' and that justice has been served.

Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif called the ruling, "an epoch-making day," and lauded it as a victory for Pakistan.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz expressed her enthusiasm on the judgement, claiming that the opposition had succeeded in "getting rid of the enemy of the nation."

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said "democracy is the best revenge."

In a press conference held immediately after the verdict, the PPP chairman quoted an English expression: "First they ignore you, then they fight you, then you win."

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman while congratulating the nation and supporters on the judgement said that Supreme Court buried the infamous "doctrine of necessity”.

Other opposition leaders also hailed the top court’s ‘historic verdict’.

“Proud of #PPP & all political parties, the lawyers & the Supreme Court. We all stood by the Constitution & upheld the principles of rule of law,” said PPP leader and Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab.

Shortly after the apex court's decision, Prime Minister Imran Khan called for a cabinet meeting on Friday. The premier further stated that he will address the nation the same day.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shahbaz Gill reiterated "the sacrifice of our forefathers in 1947". Gill claimed that the ruling was a testament to being "colonised by the United States".

PTI leader Faisal Javed Khan tweeted words of encouragement for supporters, promising that the premier will "fight for his nation" and that he will "announce his next strategy soon".

Journalist Azaz Syed tweeted that the decision by the top court reignited the hope he had for Pakistan.

Social media user Quratulain Baloch expressed that the decision was proof that certain people can "easily sell their souls and countrymen [to foreign powers]."

Journalist Mansoor Ali Khan claimed that the judgement "punches holes in Imran Khan's foreign hand narrative."

PTI supporters claimed the judgement was a triumph for the United States and the opposition.

They also criticised the judges for their verdict and claimed that the US was successful in enforcing a regime change in Pakistan.
