Former Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar on Wednesday denied allegations levelled by the opposition and estranged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and her close friend Farah Khan.
Buzdar said that transfers of officials in Punjab during his tenure as the chief minister were carried out solely on the basis of merit and rules and regulations. “Transfers in Punjab are based on merit and rules and regulations," Buzdar said in a series of tweets.
“I categorically reject the baseless allegations against the First Lady and Farah Khan. Strongly deny the fabricated allegations of Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Sarwar and other opposition members and condemn the allegations without any evidence," he said in one of his tweets.
The former chief minister was referring to the recently-held media talks of estranged PTI leader Aleem Khan and former Punjab government Chaudhry Sarwar. Both of them levelled serious allegations of corruption against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Farah Khan and Usman Buzdar.
Buzdar emphasised that "elements defeated in the political arena cannot hide their humiliation by making baseless and fabricated allegations” against them. He dubbed the political rivals as the “uncrowned kings” of corruption.

"The uncrowned kings of money laundering and corruption have always had the habit of making baseless allegations against their rivals and institutions for blackmailing when they are defeated in the political arena," he added.
Continuing, he said that the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) could not bring even a single corruption scandal against him or his cabinet during the three and half years of his term in the office of the chief minister of Punjab.
He mocked the PML-N leaders by mentioning Calibri Font scandal and the fake trust deed, as well as the benami account in the name of one Maqsood Chaprasi – allegedly associated with the fake accounts and other cases against the Sharif family.
“The PML-N and its followers have not been able to bring to light a single corruption scandal against me or my cabinet in three and a half years. No contract, no Calibri letter, no fake trust deed, no Maqsood Chaprasi nor any of my Mayfair flats, You must bring to the fore if you have any evidence,” Buzdar said.
“By the grace of Allah, delivered honestly in Punjab in the three and a half years. Without any proof, you are levelling allegations against family women, whether she is the first lady or Farah Khan. The only purpose is to criticise Imran Khan in any way – you will fail because no one can point finger at Imran Khan's honesty!”
