KARACHI:

The two sisters killed in building collapse in the Pir Ilahi Bukhsh (PIB) colony were laid to rest on Monday.

The two women had died after a bent building in the PIB Colony collapsed because its demolition was delayed for the second day. Part of a crooked three-story building collapsed in PIB Colony, colliding with an adjoining building, killing two real sisters and injuring three on Sunday.

The adjacent building was also damaged, while its residents are worried and have taken up temporary accommodation with their neighbours. According to the area's residents, the administration had promised to demolish the affected building and remove the debris soon. But work has not yet begun. No action has been taken by the police against the owner or builder of the building so far.
