Islamabad police arrest 14 lawbreakers

ISLAMABAD:

The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of Islamabad police arrested two alleged car lifters and recovered eight stolen vehicles from their possession, a police spokesperson said on Saturday.

He said that arrested car lifters were identified as Wirasat and Mohsin Ali. The accused used to steal Mehran, Corolla and other model vehicles from different areas of the city. Further investigation is under way.

He said that Islamabad police have already returned more than 60 vehicles to the owners.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police have arrested 14 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered drugs and weapons, the police spokesman said.

Tarnol police arrested two alleged drug peddlers namely Ashraf Khan and Abid Hussain and recovered 1850 grams of hashish from them. The same police recovered one 30-bore pistol from an accused, identified as Abdul Samad. Golra police arrested an alleged drug peddler namely Abdullah and recovered 230 grams of hashish from him.

Shalimar police arrested an alleged drug peddler namely Malik Zahid and recovered 1045 grams of hashish and 15 bottles of wine while Bhara Kahu police recovered one 30-bore pistol from accused Mubeen Ahmad.

Kohsar police arrested two accused namely Baqir Ali and Faraz Masih and recovered two 30-bore pistols from them. Lohi Bher police recovered one 30-bore pistol from an accused Zafar Iqbal. Koral police arrested two accused namely Hamza and Faizan and recovered one 30-bore pistol and 210 grams of hashish from them.

Khanna and Bani Gala police arrested two accused Naveed Masih and Arshad Ali and recovered 330 grams of hashish from them. Cases have been registered and further investigations are under way, the police spokesperson said adding that the Islamabad police will vigorously continue its ongoing crackdown on outlaws and anti-social elements operating in the federal capital.
