When the world asked Why? Pepsi had the perfect answer…“Why Not Meri Jaan?”

It’s been a momentous year for Pepsi as everybody has been murmuring to the catchy tune of its prevalent song Sohna Tu. The popularity of Sohna Tu has continued to soar since its release. Forging bonds between communities and transcending borders, Sohna Tu has become the most popular installment of the #WhyNotMeriJaan campaign.

Aima Baig, Sohna Tu's featured artist, invited the public to participate in a dance challenge following the release of the peppy track.


Sohna Tu left no platform untouched, receiving entries from all over Pakistan. Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok saw a wave of content come through as people began to share their interpretations of Sohna Tu choreography, with the addition of Aima’s signature ‘pointing steps’. On just Tiktok alone, there were thousands of entries showcasing people showing off their swag moves to the new dance track.

In an interesting turn of events, Snack Video was also taken over by the Sohna Tu dance challenge. 
Soon enough many of our favourite celebrities hopped on the bandwagon and started participating as well.

Hammad Shoaib, Hira Mani, Osman Khalid Butt, Usman Mukhtar, Anoushay Abbasi, Ammar Khan, Muneeb Butt, Zoya Nasir, Ayesha Omar and Shahveer posted their own versions of the #WhyNotDanceMeriJaan challenge. Within minutes, netizens began dancing to the beat and nominating their friends to participate.

 

Lets refresh our memory

The #WhyNotDanceMe campaign also drew the attention of prominent dance crews and choreographers. Evolution Xtreme Dancers, The Colony, Anarchy, The Martians, Daniya Kanwal, Reham Rafiq, Bilal Hafeez, Zain and Bilal, Rabya Kulsoom and Srha Asgr (to name a few) took part in the campaign and added their own flair to the notorious choreography. It was thrilling to witness different versions of Sohna Tu.

It just doesn't end here!! The LUMS dance crew instigated an inter-university dance challenge and challenged other universities to participate in the fiesty #WhyNotDanceMeriJaan challenge by posting their choreography videos. The videos took the social media by storm and garnered immense views.
 

 

Other universities including, AKU, Szabist, IOBM, IBA soon followed suit by posting their videos as well. Ever since then, the infectious dance fever has made its way to parties and weddings, becoming the soundtrack to our choreographed dances.


Sohna Tu has been immersing us in good vibes since its debut, and those vibes are so strong that they have travelled across the globe. It has been fascinating to watch dance videos from a myriad of countries, including France, Hong Kong, Dubai, London, and most recently, New York City!


The Times Square video has got to be our favourite thus far!

Sohna Tu is a delight for the eyes and ears truly!! The groovy track has been playing on repeat while we sip our chilled Pepsi. We simply can't get tired of it!
