UVAS organises flower show

Seasonal varieties of flowers, indoor plants and vases were displayed; training session for farmers also held

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) organised a two-day ‘Flower Show’ at its Ravi Campus on Tuesday. Vice Chancellor, Dr Nasim Ahmad visited the event with senior faculty members and appreciated the efforts of Principal Officer Ravi Campus, Dr Arshad Javid and Horticulturalist, Muhammad Saeed Ahmed for successfully organising the show.

Seasonal varieties of flowers, indoor plants and vases were displayed, while a training session for farmers was also held regarding ‘Innovative Floriculture Production Techniques’.

The training session was part of the “Establishment of Model Farms in Pakistan” project funded by the Government of the Punjab. While addressing the audience, the VC highlighted the importance of value addition and export of flowers and urged to arrange such events regularly.

He promised that UVAS was ready to facilitate local farmers and businessmen in the training, management of human resources and provision of quality education in the field of plant sciences.
