AJK president urges OIC to stop bloodshed in IIOJK

The president said the body should use its political and diplomatic clout to reverse the actions of Indian government

ISLAMABAD:

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry on Wednesday sought Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) role for stopping continuing bloodshed and human rights violations at in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

According to a statement issued by his office, while addressing the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, held at Parliament House, Islamabad, the president said that the international body should use its political and diplomatic clout to reverse the illegal and unilateral actions of Indian government in Kashmir since August 5, 2019.

Chaudhry stressed that there is a dire need of pressurising India into allowing the representatives of United Nations to visit the occupied territory to investigate the massacre which took place due to Indian barbarism in the region.

Underscoring the need for resolving the lingering dispute, he said that the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir is the only way forward for a peaceful settlement.

He also thanked OIC Secretary-General Hussain Ibrahim Taha for sending his special envoy to review the situation in AJK.
