Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Rao Sardar Ali Khan reviewed and finalised the security arrangements for Pakistan Day events across the province on Tuesday.
He said that all resources would be utilised under a comprehensive strategy for the security of all programs held in major cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad and Gujranwala.
At least 3,792 officers and personnel will be deployed for the security of 102 event in all districts of Punjab on Pakistan Day. According to the security plan, lady constables will also provide security of the female participants in such programs and rallies of national solidarity.
Additional wardens should be deployed to maintain the flow of traffic during the rallies on the main highways. IG Punjab added that supervisory officers themselves should go out in the field and review the security arrangements of sensitive programs and rallies.
Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer Lahore (CCPO) Fayyaz Ahmad Dev reviewed the security and traffic arrangements made by Lahore Police for the ongoing Pak-Australia cricket match continued in provincial metropolis on Tuesday.
So far 8,000 police officers have been deployed to secure routes towards the Gaddafi Stadium as well as the hotels the players will be staying at.
