Hindu festival marks victory of good over evil

Like the rest of the country, the Hindu community across Sindh, including Karachi, celebrated their religious festival of Holi with traditional fervor.

Celebrations were held in temples and houses on Friday in connection with Holi. Houses and temples in different parts of the Hindu community were beautifully decorated. Rangolis were made outside the houses. Holka was burned in the evening to traditionally celebrate the festival.

Traditional dandiya and garba dances were performed in various temples and hotels in Karachi while the youth cheered on the drum beat.

To celebrate the festival of colors Holi, old, young children and women all played Holi by painting colors on each other. To celebrate Holi, the youths danced to the tune of religious songs.

The Hindu community says that in Pakistan we celebrate our religious festival peacefully and people of other religions join us. The Hindu community says the festival of Holi commemorates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. Holi celebrations will continue for several days. Special offerings will also be distributed.
